Video Autoplay Stopper —
Chrome Extension
Effective date: August 8, 2026
This policy describes what data the extension collects, why it is collected, and how it is handled. The free version needs no account and sends nothing anywhere. Data leaves your computer only if you sign in and subscribe, and only what is listed below.
1. Data we collect
None of this is collected unless you choose to sign in. Without an account, the extension has no server to talk to.
| Data | Why | Where it is stored |
|---|---|---|
| Google account basics: email address, display name, profile photo, and a Firebase user ID | Sign-in and linking your subscription to your account | Google Firebase (Firestore / Authentication), United States (us-central1) |
| A random device identifier (generated by the extension; not derived from your hardware) | Enforcing the per-plan device limit | Firebase Firestore, and locally in your browser's extension storage |
| Subscription status and plan type | Unlocking the features of your plan | Firebase Firestore (synced from our payment provider) |
| Your site rules — the hostnames you added to your allow list or block list, your mode, and your chosen blocking action. Plus and Pro only. | Copying your rules between your own devices | Firebase Firestore, alongside your account |
| Authentication tokens | Keeping you signed in | Locally only, in your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local)
|
Site rules are hostnames you typed or clicked to add. They are a list of your preferences, not a
record of where you have been: a rule for example.com says how you want that site treated,
and says nothing about whether or when you visited it.
2. Data we do NOT collect
No browsing history
The pages you open, the URLs you load, and the order you visit them in are never recorded and never leave your computer.
Nothing about the videos
Which videos were stopped, their titles, their addresses, and how many there were — none of it is recorded or transmitted. The blocking happens entirely inside the page.
Nothing about sites you have no rule for
Only the hostnames you deliberately added to a list are stored. Every other site you visit is invisible to us.
No payment card details
Payments are handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy (our merchant of record); we never see or store your card data.
No analytics, no advertising
There is no telemetry, no usage tracking, no advertising, and no third-party tracker of any kind in this extension.
Nothing at all, if you stay free
Without signing in, the extension makes no network requests of its own. It works offline, and your settings stay in your browser.
3. Third-party services
- Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore) — sign-in and data storage, only for signed-in users. Google Privacy Policy
- Lemon Squeezy — subscription payments and billing portal, only if you buy a plan. Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy
We never sell your data, and we never share it with anyone other than the two processors listed above.
4. Extension permissions
- Access to all websites — autoplay can happen on any site, so the blocker has to be able to run on any site. It reads nothing from the page except whether media elements are present, and reports that to nobody.
storage— saving your mode, your site rules, and your theme.activeTab— letting the popup show the site you are currently looking at, so you can allow or block it in one click.identity— the Google sign-in window. Used only when you choose to sign in.
You are not obliged to grant access to every site. Right-click the toolbar button and use "This can read and change site data" to choose On click or On specific sites. The extension will only run where you allow it.
5. Data retention and deletion
Account data is kept while your account exists. To delete your account and all associated data (profile, devices, subscription record, and synced rules), email us from the address you signed in with. Signing out of the extension removes all tokens from your browser immediately. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data.
6. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated and significant changes will be noted in the extension's Web Store listing.
